I think that in third quarter I have made the most improvements in my ability to pick out the important details of a text. I have practiced this through writing blogs, writing AoWs, and writing essays using sources. When writing the Seaworld/Blackfish argumentative essay I had to pick out the most important parts of sources to write a convincing essay. This helped me develop that skill.
What I am most proud of in the new year is that I wrote my first thematic essay. I have always heard of these essays but have never written one. I learned a lot and practiced my writing skills. I am very proud of this accomplishment. The most challenging part of third quarter was keeping up with homework. I have many activities outside of school and not much time to do homework. Because we receive so much homework I often had to stay up past ten working on homework.

ReplyDeleteThe argumentative essay helped me with a lot of writing skills as well, especially using the most important information. We did have a lot of homework, but it's good that you are involved with things outside of school. I was also pretty proud of my thematic essay. It was one of the first essay that was challenging to write in a long time. Overall, I hope keeping up with the homework is easier this quarter.
